Cross-Border Business Dynamics in Eastern Europe Forum

On June 24, ASSIST Software took part in the Cross-Border Business Dynamics Forum, an event powered by AHK Romania and held at the Siret Industrial Park, where, for the day, Romania, Ukraine, and Moldova strategically converged on more than just geography. This forum brought together the most influential regional decision-makers and German companies to align on investment opportunities that have real-world impact.

Representing our team were Gheorghe David - ASSIST Software Co-Founder & Managing Partner, Teodor Drobota - Business Operations Specialist, and Gabriel Tironeac - Vice President of Innovation, who stepped into the spotlight to highlight how smart partnerships and future-forward tech can power regional transformation and convert cross-border collaboration into long-term progress.

From 1:1 Conversations to International Partnerships

Moderated by Sebastian Metz, General Manager of The German-Romanian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the forum zeroed in on critical topics such as strategic investment opportunities in Suceava County, ongoing infrastructure development, and support for industrial activities.

The expansion of dual education programs, as well as establishing innovation clusters with a focus on automation and bioeconomy were also topics of interest. Local authorities, universities, and access to European funding were considered to be some of the main highways toward reaching a more resilient regional economy.

The main discussion underscored the border region’s strong potential to revitalize its manufacturing sector and spark a new phase of industrial growth and was followed by a series of one-on-one conversations with the thirteen well-established German companies in attendance, including camLine, Durable, KUKA, ProCredit Bank, and more.

Pioneering Smart Manufacturing

ASSIST’s proven track record in the DACH market already spans successful projects in healthcare, manufacturing, cybersecurity, and more, with its German subsidiary, ASSIST Software GmbH, headquartered in Augsburg, driving focused growth within Germany.

Having worked closely with digital twin systems and automation projects ourselves, it was great to see how the Industrial Park in Siret is already moving in that direction, with robotics labs operated by the University of Suceava helping to push innovation forward.

It’s a strong signal that smart manufacturing and applied research aren’t just on the horizon but are already taking shape here and now.

ASSIST’s Ongoing Partnership with AKH Romania

Building meaningful connections is what stood out to us most at yesterday's forum, be it across borders, across industries, or across ideas.

At ASSIST Software, this only deepens our commitment to creating software that solves real problems and reaches beyond local impact. With roots in Suceava and now a team based in Augsburg, we’re working closely with AHK Romania to stay involved where change is happening.  We’ve been fortunate to support projects in healthcare, finance, logistics, and retail, each one teaching us something new about what good tech can actually do.

Ever since joining AHK in 2020, we’ve stayed focused on creating good tech and accelerating digital transformation, while also expanding our footprint across the DACH region. The work continues, and so do the conversations, in Augsburg, Bucharest, Iasi, Suceava, and wherever opportunity takes us next.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is ASSIST Software's development process?

The Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) we employ defines the following stages for a software project. Our SDLC phases include planning, requirement gathering, product design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

2. What software development methodology does ASSIST Software use?

ASSIST Software primarily leverages Agile principles for flexibility and adaptability. This means we break down projects into smaller, manageable sprints, allowing continuous feedback and iteration throughout the development cycle. We also incorporate elements from other methodologies to increase efficiency as needed. For example, we use Scrum for project roles and collaboration, and Kanban boards to see workflow and manage tasks. As per the Waterfall approach, we emphasize precise planning and documentation during the initial stages.

3. I'm considering a custom application. Should I focus on a desktop, mobile or web app?

We can offer software consultancy services to determine the type of software you need based on your specific requirements. Please explore what type of app development would suit your custom build product.

  • A web application runs on a web browser and is accessible from any device with an internet connection. (e.g., online store, social media platform)
  • Mobile app developers design applications mainly for smartphones and tablets, such as games and productivity tools. However, they can be extended to other devices, such as smartwatches.
  • Desktop applications are installed directly on a computer (e.g., photo editing software, word processors).
  • Enterprise software manages complex business functions within an organization (e.g., Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)).

4. My software product is complex. Are you familiar with the Scaled Agile methodology?

We have been in the software engineering industry for 30 years. During this time, we have worked on bespoke software that needed creative thinking, innovation, and customized solutions.

Scaled Agile refers to frameworks and practices that help large organizations adopt Agile methodologies. Traditional Agile is designed for small, self-organizing teams. Scaled Agile addresses the challenges of implementing Agile across multiple teams working on complex projects.

SAFe provides a structured approach for aligning teams, coordinating work, and delivering value at scale. It focuses on collaboration, communication, and continuous delivery for optimal custom software development services.

5. How do I choose the best collaboration model with ASSIST Software?

We offer flexible models. Think about your project and see which models would be right for you.

  • Dedicated Team: Ideal for complex, long-term projects requiring high continuity and collaboration.
  • Team Augmentation: Perfect for short-term projects or existing teams needing additional expertise.
  • Project-Based Model: Best for well-defined projects with clear deliverables and a fixed budget.

Contact us to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each model.
