How we reinvented ourselves in 2023

2023 was a year to remember at ASSIST Software. As a business and team, we became more united and focused on the things we value - development and innovation. We redesigned concepts, readapted practices, and set out better prepared for the opportunities ahead. As the theme of the year says: "Reinventing ourselves", we focused our efforts on working even better, on adapting to new changes, and finally, on exceeding the expectations of those who entrusted us. This attitude has ultimately led to delivering the best software solutions to our clients. 

Contributing to successful projects with partners such as Rockna and Audiobyte accentuated our commitment to go above and beyond in everything we do, even in our new-found passion for the high-end audio field. Moreover, we partnered with T-System for facilitating the seamless deployment and integration of secure cloud applications.

As we explored different branches and challenges, we also launched Easy Sky, Seaplify and Autisma. These in-house projects represent our desire to bring technology to multiple industries. 

In the global arena, participation in events like Digital X, Mobile World Congress, or Hannover Messe showcased our commitment to staying ahead of industry trends. Engaging with international audiences and exploring collaborative opportunities reinforced our position as a player in the global tech landscape.

In terms of collaboration, we joined The Grow, a distinguished entrepreneurial club from Germany that facilitates connections between medium-sized companies, private investors, and startups.

In 2023, we continued the Masterclass series we started the previous year with two new editions, covering C#, JavaScript, and Python technologies. We set a high-quality standard in the information provided through both a theoretical and practical approach. 

Moving from experienced professionals, ASSIST Software fueled the future tech workforce through engaging student events: 

• Open Doors ASSIST offered USV students a glimpse into our projects, activities, and culture; 

• ASSIST Tech Challenge discovered fresh talents through the coding competition; 

• The USV Company Fair connected us with career-ready students. 

Recognizing the wider tech community's thirst for knowledge, we also revitalized the Tech Cafe series. These informal gatherings provided a relaxed opportunity for exploring diverse technical subjects, welcoming anyone eager to learn over for a free cup of coffee. 

Furthermore, 2023 brought us unique learning opportunities. In the second part of the year, together with USV, we launched the Dual USV program. This educational initiative aims to develop the technical skills of young tech enthusiasts in our community and prepare them for the tech professional pool. 

The internal contest Best Innovative Minds took center stage. This event promotes a creative thinking and problem-solving culture, encouraging team members to pitch and develop innovative ideas and projects. Last year brought a brand-new edition – BIM 2.0, which was less about competing, and more focused on team efforts that bring continuous improvements within the company and community. 

Another highlight was the nomination of the Most Valuable Professionals. In 2023, Vlad Dediță and Andrei Tărnăuceanu were acknowledged for their outstanding contributions as MVPs of the year.  

In 2023, our team's hard work and dedication paid off, and we were honored to receive several awards and recognitions. Take a look at some of the most important ones:

• 2nd place – Top National Companies 2023 in Research, Development and High Tech (Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania);
• 1st place - Romania Top Companies 2023, Suceava County, field 72: Research and Development;
• 1st place - Romania Top Profit 2023, Top for Romania, field 7219: Research and development in other natural sciences and engineering;
• Most Reviewed Software Developers in Romania (The Manifest).

As our team kept growing, we felt the need to make every moment together memorable. Thus, celebrations weren't limited to professional achievements only. At the end of the year, our team, partners, and collaborators came together for a well-deserved party on groovy vibes at Discotecha ASSIST. Another occasion of this kind was Deep in the Forest, an electronic music festival the company sponsored in the summer. 

Balancing work with outdoor activities has become an integral part of our culture. Initiatives like forestation, hiking, Bucovina Ultra Rocks and Dragomirna Marathon allowed us to recharge our energy and engage together in personal growth activities.

As we reflect on the events of 2023, it's clear that each initiative, whether internal or external, educational or celebratory, contributed to our culture and growth. We embraced change and emerged stronger, ready to learn, adapt and create. In this way, we have set the stage for a new year defined by innovation, collaboration, and continuous growth.
