ASSIST Software at the AHK Romania New Year Reception & AHK Awards 2026
The beginning of 2026 marked an important opportunity for ASSIST Software to strengthen strategic relationships on the German market through participation in the AHK Romania New Year Reception & AHK Awards 2026. Organized by the Romanian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK Romania), the event took place on the 29th of January, in a prestigious setting at the Palace of the Parliament, bringing together business leaders, representatives of public authorities, institutional partners, and members of the press.
Strategic Partnership and a Shared Vision
As long-standing members of AHK Romania, ASSIST Software had the pleasure of taking part in this evening dedicated to trust, collaboration, and the consolidation of a shared vision for Europe’s economic future. Our long-term relationship with AHK Romania gains increased relevance in the context of the opening of ASSIST Software GmbH's office in Augsburg last year, a strategic step that reflects our commitment to expanding our presence on the German market and to becoming a reference technology partner for companies seeking excellence in innovation and software development.
Two of our colleagues, Andrei Ungurean, Head of Business Operations, and Sorina Ungurean, Marketing Assistant, attended the event, engaging with both existing collaborators and potential partners to discuss ongoing initiatives and future collaboration opportunities. These interactions laid out the groundwork for potential partnerships and provided valuable perspectives for developing projects in strategic areas.
An Evening Dedicated to Excellence and Innovation
The annual AHK Romania event at the Palace of Parliament brought together nearly 800 participants, including business leaders, government representatives, Presidential advisers, members of civil society, the press, and the academic community. The atmosphere was marked by optimism and openness to collaboration, encouraging meaningful exchanges of ideas and experiences among participants.
The reception offered an ideal setting for high-quality networking, enabling companies to explore partnership opportunities within the Romanian–German business ecosystem. Speakers on stage emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation at a European level, highlighting that “Europe is strong when we stand united, fully leverage the single market, defend our shared values, and continue to develop partnerships,” as noted by Sebastian Metz, General Manager of AHK Romania, who stressed that prosperity and competitiveness can only be secured through joint action.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the AHK Awards 2026, which recognize innovative projects with significant impact on strengthening economic relations between Romania and Germany. The ceremony underscored the importance of innovation, reform, and operational excellence, with speakers also calling for deep structural reforms to improve collaboration between the public and private sectors. As one keynote speaker pointed out, attracting foreign and domestic investment, developing integrated production networks, and building research and development centers requires a comprehensive reform of how the state and the business environment interact. These themes resonated strongly with the core values that ASSIST Software consistently promotes through its work.
During the event, the Romanian–German Economy Awards (AHK Awards), now in their third edition, were presented to DRM Dräxlmaier Romania, Schaeffler Romania, Bosch Group Romania, and Asociația Tășuleasa Social. The awards were presented by senior officials, including the Minister of Economy - Irineu Darău, Presidential Adviser - Radu Burnete, Minister of Investments and European Projects - Dragoș Pîslaru, and the Head of the Prime Minister’s Chancellery, Mihai Jurca.
Perspectives for 2026
Participation in this event marks the beginning of a year in which ASSIST Software aims to intensify collaboration with German partners and leverage its international presence to attract complex, innovative projects in which advanced software engineering and applied AI play a central role. The opening of the ASSIST Software German office has strategically positioned us to respond to the evolving needs of the European market, while AHK Romania membership facilitates access to an extensive network of companies and business opportunities.
The Romanian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry plays a vital role in promoting economic and cultural exchange between the two countries, providing member companies with support for international development and access to valuable networking and consulting resources.

Over the past year, ASSIST Software has actively participated in several AHK-organized initiatives, including the Conference on Defence Industrial Cooperation between Germany and Romania in Bucharest and the Cross-border Business Dynamics Forum in Siret, as well as other strategic industry events.
