The IDEATE Kick-off Meeting in Suceava - Empowering Teachers for Inclusive, Digital Education

On April 2–3, 2025, the IDEATE project officially launched with its kick-off meeting hosted by the Educational Sciences Faculty of the Ștefan cel Mare University (USV), in Suceava, Romania. Bringing together partners from across Europe, the meeting marked the beginning of a powerful collaboration aimed at transforming inclusive education through digital innovation and teacher empowerment.
The IDEATE – Inclusive Digital Education and Teacher Empowerment Academy project is part of the Erasmus+ Teacher Academies, a European initiative aimed at enhancing the quality and impact of teacher education. As a member of this dynamic network, IDEATE will contribute to the broader mission of developing innovative, inclusive, and future-ready education systems across Europe.
The project brings together teacher training institutions, schools, and technical partners to co-create high-quality learning opportunities for both pre-service (student teachers) and in-service educators. Through cross-border collaboration, specialized training programs, and the integration of advanced digital tools, IDEATE supports the professional growth of educators while promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in classrooms.
By aligning with the values of the Erasmus+ Teacher Academies, IDEATE will not only strengthen teaching practices but will also help build a cohesive European Education Area grounded in excellence and social responsibility. Its core objective is to empower educators with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to create inclusive learning environments that support all students, particularly those from marginalized or neurodivergent backgrounds.
A collaborative and inspiring launch
During the kick-off meeting, partners presented their organizations, shared their visions, and began aligning efforts for the months ahead. Participants included representatives from Ștefan cel Mare University of Suceava, from universities of Bielefeld, Patras, Perugia and Lleida, as well as from the Suceava County School Inspectorate, the George Tofan Teachers’ Training Center, Mihai Eminescu National College and ASSIST Software.

The meeting was further distinguished by the participation of the rector of Ștefan cel Mare University, Prof. Mihai Dimian, whose presence underscored the importance of the IDEATE project and its alignment with the university’s commitment to advancing education.
As the technical partner, ASSIST plays a pivotal role in developing the digital tools for the IDEATE project. These tools, enhanced with gamification features, aim to boost engagement and accessibility in the learning process for both educators and students.
Setting the stage for transformation
The agenda of the kick-off meeting covered all key components of the project, including the general Teacher Academies’ framework, the project’s concept, methodology, work packages, deliverables, key performance indicators, and long-term sustainability strategy. Discussions emphasized the importance of collaboration and open dialogue, setting a positive tone for the project’s implementation.
Key objectives of the IDEATE project include:
- Strengthening inclusive education by equipping educators with tools, skills and strategies to support all learners, especially those with neurodivergent needs.
- Fostering mobility and establishing a collaborative framework that enables the exchange of best practices and seamless knowledge transfer between institutions, as well as among pre-service and in-service educators.
- Driving digital transformation through the integration of innovative technologies in teaching.
- Empowering educators professionally and personally to lead inclusive classrooms with confidence.
Through these pillars, IDEATE supports the creation of communities of practice, where educators can connect, collaborate, and grow together - both within their institutions and across borders.

ASSIST’s commitment to inclusive education
We are proud to contribute our technical expertise as an essential partner in this forward-thinking initiative - collaborating closely with the consortium to develop innovative solutions that help bridge educational gaps and make learning more accessible and inclusive for all.
Our education support is longstanding. Through the ASSIST Humanitarian Foundation, we actively contribute to our community by organizing and participating in various events and campaigns that mainly focus on culture and education. Our initiatives include equipping schools with necessary resources and volunteering where needed, all aimed at improving educational outcomes and community well-being.
ASSIST Software's commitment to supporting neurodivergent children is demonstrated through our active contributions to specialized centers such as the FARA Association, Help Autism, and the Association for Autism Intervention Suceava (AIAS). In collaboration with AIAS and Ștefan cel Mare University, we implemented the AUTISMA project – a digital assistant designed to enhance the autonomy of children affected by ASD. Building upon this foundation, IDEATE expands our dedication by creating digital tools and training resources that empower educators to create more inclusive learning environments for all students.
We remind you that IDEATE is funded by the Erasmus+ Teacher Academies program of the European Union, with project ID: 101196790.
