Masterclasses you cannot miss

On the 21st and 22nd of April, ASSIST Academy held two ASSIST Masterclasses to support JavaScript and .NET developers interested in upskilling. The event was a blast to organize, present and attend, with everybody enjoying the rare opportunity of meeting for an in-person course.

What was so great about the ASSIST Masterclasses?

The face-to-face interaction between trainers and participants. Trainees could ask questions easily and have one of the trainers review their code or errors. Whenever a common problem appeared, it could be addressed in front of the entire audience.

The subjects discussed were in alignment with the current industry trends. Harmonious professional development means more than knowing everything about a particular framework. Your knowledge needs to be catered to the challenges developers face today.

The trainers brought in a different perspective. One of the greatest perks of the ASSIST Masterclasses was the involvement of many trainers. Thus, the participants could experience learning in different ways and with different teachers.

Why are these trainers special?

The ASSIST Masterclasses featured awesome trainers that want to see you succeed. As extremely passionate people, the ASSIST mentors and trainers work closely with everybody who wants to learn and follow an ASSIST Academy training program.

As software developers who work with clients daily, the trainers can help you understand more than coding. How could you optimize your workflow, and what’s the best perspective to have when working on a project?

Theoretical knowledge is nice, but how would you like to be able to discuss a certain exercise with your trainer?

What did participants learn about in the JavaScript Masterclass?

The JavaScript Agenda was a comprehensive training program that taught participants the fundamental concepts and principles of the JavaScript programming language. The program covered topics such as data types, variables, operators, control structures, functions, and objects in JavaScript, as well as more advanced topics. Participants learned how to use JavaScript to build dynamic and interactive web applications and gained hands-on experience in building web applications using JavaScript. The program also provided opportunities for collaboration with other participants, receiving feedback and guidance from instructors, and learning from mistakes when building projects. By the end of the program, participants had a strong foundation in JavaScript and a passion for the language.

What was discussed in the C# Masterclass event?

The C# Masterclass was an intensive training program that taught partiipants the key concepts of the C# programming language. The program covered C# syntax, data types, classes, objects, methods, and exception handling. Participants also learned about LINQ, file operations, and building graphical user interfaces using Windows Forms and WPF. Throughout the program, participants worked on hands-on projects, received instructor feedback and guidance, and collaborated with other participants.

What other Masterclasses would you attend?

Whether you booked your seat for the first ASSIST Masterclass or the latest April Masterclass or are looking forward to the next editions, ASSIST Academy will work hard to provide an even greater experience.

From our feedback, people would love to dig deeper into the tech of today. We received suggestions for many other themes such as software development design and / or blockchain. What subject would you love to hear about through ASSIST Masterclasses?

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is ASSIST Software's development process?

The Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) we employ defines the following stages for a software project. Our SDLC phases include planning, requirement gathering, product design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

2. What software development methodology does ASSIST Software use?

ASSIST Software primarily leverages Agile principles for flexibility and adaptability. This means we break down projects into smaller, manageable sprints, allowing continuous feedback and iteration throughout the development cycle. We also incorporate elements from other methodologies to increase efficiency as needed. For example, we use Scrum for project roles and collaboration, and Kanban boards to see workflow and manage tasks. As per the Waterfall approach, we emphasize precise planning and documentation during the initial stages.

3. I'm considering a custom application. Should I focus on a desktop, mobile or web app?

We can offer software consultancy services to determine the type of software you need based on your specific requirements. Please explore what type of app development would suit your custom build product.

  • A web application runs on a web browser and is accessible from any device with an internet connection. (e.g., online store, social media platform)
  • Mobile app developers design applications mainly for smartphones and tablets, such as games and productivity tools. However, they can be extended to other devices, such as smartwatches.
  • Desktop applications are installed directly on a computer (e.g., photo editing software, word processors).
  • Enterprise software manages complex business functions within an organization (e.g., Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)).

4. My software product is complex. Are you familiar with the Scaled Agile methodology?

We have been in the software engineering industry for 30 years. During this time, we have worked on bespoke software that needed creative thinking, innovation, and customized solutions.

Scaled Agile refers to frameworks and practices that help large organizations adopt Agile methodologies. Traditional Agile is designed for small, self-organizing teams. Scaled Agile addresses the challenges of implementing Agile across multiple teams working on complex projects.

SAFe provides a structured approach for aligning teams, coordinating work, and delivering value at scale. It focuses on collaboration, communication, and continuous delivery for optimal custom software development services.

5. How do I choose the best collaboration model with ASSIST Software?

We offer flexible models. Think about your project and see which models would be right for you.

  • Dedicated Team: Ideal for complex, long-term projects requiring high continuity and collaboration.
  • Team Augmentation: Perfect for short-term projects or existing teams needing additional expertise.
  • Project-Based Model: Best for well-defined projects with clear deliverables and a fixed budget.

Contact us to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each model.
