PRIORITY Project CBA Online- ASSIST Software
The PRIORITY project partners have managed to keep the project rolling, despite the pandemic’s interference during the last few months. Our mission to promote open, resilient, inclusive societies for youth could not be held back, particularly because of the special circumstances and challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The CBA  (Capacity Building Activity) was supposed to take place in April 2020, in Dresden, Germany. However, because of travel restrictions and social distancing regulations, we had to adapt to the new circumstances and move it online. Complying with the new protocols, the PRIORITY partners brought together 21 youth workers and trainers from Germany, Italy, Romania, and Greece, for a 5-day online workshop entitled “How to Sustain your PRIORITY Hub”. The activities were carried out between 11th and 15th of May 2020, being coordinated by project partner Jugend- Kulturprojekt e.V.
ASSIST Software’s partner volunteers from Bucovina Institute have enthusiastically participated in the workshop, which dealt with the sustainability and future of a PRIORITY Hub and focused on methods, tools, and strategies for how to future-proof each PRIORITY Hub. The participants collected useful information and gained valuable skills in using creativity and technology to develop their Hub and to expand their network of cooperation at a regional, national, and European level.
  • The program for the first day of the workshop was to wrap up the topics covered during the previous two Capacity Building Activities held in Larissa and Palermo and then to dive into the subject of the strategic planning of a PRIORITY Hub, which continued on to the second day of the workshop, as well.
  • During the third day, the participants were asked to work on a team assignment, which involved the development of a strategy for their PRIORITY Hub, adapted to the local community. Participants were provided all the necessary instructions and the full support of the trainer in the completion of the assignment.
  • The presentations of the assignment were held at the beginning of day 4, with each team having 7 minutes to deliver their presentation. The rest of the day consisted of discussions on how to use creativity and technology to further develop a PRIORITY hub.
  • The last day of the workshop was reserved for talks about ways of expanding the network of cooperation and about impact assessment of the Hubs on each community and redesign possibilities along the way. Furthermore, the participants learned how to financially sustain their Hub.
The CBA organizer, JKPeV, skilfully and thoroughly prepared the workshop, adapting the learning materials and activities to the online environment, ensuring an interesting and rewarding experience for all participants.

The PRIORITY Project is co-funded by the ERASMUS+ program of the European Union and submitted under key action: support for policy reform, action type: social inclusion through education, training, and youth, with the project number: 604571-EPP-1-2018-1-DE-EPPKA3-IPI-SOC-IN. In this program are involved 4 countries (Germany, Greece, Romania - represented by ASSIST Software and Italy) and 6 organizations.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is ASSIST Software's development process?

The Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) we employ defines the following stages for a software project. Our SDLC phases include planning, requirement gathering, product design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

2. What software development methodology does ASSIST Software use?

ASSIST Software primarily leverages Agile principles for flexibility and adaptability. This means we break down projects into smaller, manageable sprints, allowing continuous feedback and iteration throughout the development cycle. We also incorporate elements from other methodologies to increase efficiency as needed. For example, we use Scrum for project roles and collaboration, and Kanban boards to see workflow and manage tasks. As per the Waterfall approach, we emphasize precise planning and documentation during the initial stages.

3. I'm considering a custom application. Should I focus on a desktop, mobile or web app?

We can offer software consultancy services to determine the type of software you need based on your specific requirements. Please explore what type of app development would suit your custom build product.

  • A web application runs on a web browser and is accessible from any device with an internet connection. (e.g., online store, social media platform)
  • Mobile app developers design applications mainly for smartphones and tablets, such as games and productivity tools. However, they can be extended to other devices, such as smartwatches.
  • Desktop applications are installed directly on a computer (e.g., photo editing software, word processors).
  • Enterprise software manages complex business functions within an organization (e.g., Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)).

4. My software product is complex. Are you familiar with the Scaled Agile methodology?

We have been in the software engineering industry for 30 years. During this time, we have worked on bespoke software that needed creative thinking, innovation, and customized solutions.

Scaled Agile refers to frameworks and practices that help large organizations adopt Agile methodologies. Traditional Agile is designed for small, self-organizing teams. Scaled Agile addresses the challenges of implementing Agile across multiple teams working on complex projects.

SAFe provides a structured approach for aligning teams, coordinating work, and delivering value at scale. It focuses on collaboration, communication, and continuous delivery for optimal custom software development services.

5. How do I choose the best collaboration model with ASSIST Software?

We offer flexible models. Think about your project and see which models would be right for you.

  • Dedicated Team: Ideal for complex, long-term projects requiring high continuity and collaboration.
  • Team Augmentation: Perfect for short-term projects or existing teams needing additional expertise.
  • Project-Based Model: Best for well-defined projects with clear deliverables and a fixed budget.

Contact us to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each model.
