PRIORITY Hubs in Action (Erasmus+ Project)
Tue, 05 Jan 2021
Over the past several months, the PRIORITY Erasmus+ Project partners resumed the implementation of their proposed activities in an offline environment. They carefully adapted the format and locations of the events to current COVID-19 regulations, to continue their valuable work in promoting the inclusion of young migrants and people with migrant backgrounds in society.
Project partner Centro per lo sviluppo creativo Danilo Dolci (The Centre for Creative Development “Danilo Dolci”) from Palermo, Italy, held a compelling three-day Youth Inclusion Workshop in September 2020, focusing on civic education, active citizenship and human rights education through social inclusion and non-formal education methodologies.
Project coordinator Jugend-&Kulturprojekt e.V. held a series of Youth Inclusion workshops at the Dresden PRIORITY Hub between September and November 2020. Some of the workshops were related to art and art exhibitions such as the "Exhibiting My Artwork" (September 2nd, 2020), “How to Photograph an Artwork” (September 17th and October 27th, 2020) and “Full Moon Gallery” (October 21st, 2020) workshops.
The “MOB-X Adventure Room” workshop, which took place on the 25th of September and the 2nd of October, was an escape room-style challenge designed to help participants develop analytical thinking and cooperation skills, and to deconstruct mutual stereotypical images.
The last workshop of 2020 was the “Crafting a Winning Artist’s CV” workshop, which was organized online, on the 16th and 18th of November. Participants learned how to construct a convincing CV, which is of paramount importance in promoting themselves and applying to various exhibitions, gallery spaces, biennales, and art symposiums.
JKPeV has already announced their next online workshop, entitled Visualise your message through the Graphic Design tool "Canva". It will be held on January 14th, 2021 and it is meant to teach participants the fundamentals of graphic design, and how to create digital promotional materials using the graphic design platform Canva.
Another milestone reached towards the end of 2020 was the first multiplier event of the PRIORITY project, which was carried out on October 1st, at Dresden’s PRIORITY Hub, on the premises of Jugend- & Kulturprojekt e.V. The event gathered more than 40 youth workers, volunteers and educators and representatives of various organizations, who received extensive information on the PRIORITY Erasmus+ Project and its objectives.
The PRIORITY Project is co-funded by the ERASMUS+ program of the European Union and submitted under key action: support for policy reform, action type: social inclusion through education, training, and youth, with the project number: 604571-EPP-1-2018-1-DE-EPPKA3-IPI-SOC-IN.
