Between 24 and 25 November, took place the final stage of the International Students Contest in Information Security - CTF-USV 2017 (Capture the Flag), held for the second year in Suceava by Ştefan cel Mare University of Suceava, in partnership with ASSIST Software and Safetech Innovations Bucharest.
The CTF-USV (“Capture The Flag” – Suceava University) contest is intending to mobilize the energies of universities students, their knowledge and abilities on hacking information systems and applications in a controlled and challenging environment.
We are honored to support the academic environment in organizing such an important competition in Suceava. Our colleagues participated in the opening ceremony and discussed with the participants on different technical topics. Also, ASSIST Software awarded the best students for their hard-work and results. We value the dedication and the responsibility showed during the contest by all the teams. We congratulate the winners and all the participants!
Following the on-line qualification stage, which took place between October 26 and 27, 2017 and attended by 32 teams, 13 of them were qualified: five from the USV, four from the Technical University of Moldova from Chisinau and one from Politehnica University of Timisoara, Politehnica University of Bucharest, "Lucian Blaga" University of Sibiu and "Yuriy Fedkovych" University in Chernivtsi.
Following the final stage, on-site, the teams ranked in the top three places were: SegfaultTamers (Politehnica University of Bucharest) - 337p; Born2Debug (Technical University of Moldova) - 223p; Resita Hacking (Polytechnic University of Timisoara) - 215p. USV teams were on: 5, 6, 7, 10 and 13 places.
