Ionut Holding the MVP award in ASSIST Software

Here at ASSIST Software, we are all working hard to fulfill dreams while also setting higher and higher goals for ourselves as a company.

We work in teams that move around each other in sync, solving problems, imagining the uninvented, and growing as individuals.

Each ASSIST Software employee might do their daily work differently, making all thought processes different and keeping implementation plans fresh. However, certain team members stand out through their professionalism, knowledge, and kindness.

Is kindness an attribute of a great professional? What's the story?

Like many other companies, our New Year's resolutions for 2022 were to show more gratitude, create safer spaces and open our minds even more so we could continue feeling inspired by everything around us.

Thus, we kicked off 2022 with a new program meant to spotlight those company unicorns - our specialists. Their hard work and loyalty to the ASSIST Software values are unshaken.

ASSIST Software MVP Award

Thus, we kicked off 2022 with a new program meant to spotlight those company unicorns - our specialists. Their hard work and loyalty to the ASSIST Software values are unshaken.

We asked all of our employees to give their opinion on who they think deserved to receive ASSIST Software's Most Valuable Professional award. The answers did not disappoint. A few names appeared more than others in the dozens of nominations. All submissions were accompanied by long explanations that encompassed praises and examples of accomplished feats not all of us might have known about.

All nominations received stood testament to the nominees' impact at a team and company level while also displaying their leadership qualities.

We were pleasantly surprised that "kindness" was one of the most used words we encountered when reading about the nominees. Our colleagues spoke a lot about kindness, know-how, and the willingness to help - qualities that their nominees showed daily. We noticed that stressful deadlines or uncommon situations did not faze our potential MVPs. It's been said that they remained calm and kind and helped the team overcome the bump in the road.

Being a brilliant human does not make one a specialist. Our MVP is both.

After a long process that included a voting system and the fairest assessment techniques we could muster, we discovered who deserved to be named the first ASSIST Software MVP.

Our Most Valuable Professional is our new Deputy of the Java department, about whom his colleagues say that "he manages to elevate the entire mood of his department" and "can inspire his colleagues to develop professionally."

We are proud to add that Ionuț Grădinaru also has an excellent grasp of industry best practices. He is constantly working, dedicating time to expanding and specializing his skills.

"An award from my colleagues is possibly the most important award I could receive. They know me best. My colleagues truly know how my actions and plans impact our small community. This ASSIST MVP award is possibly the most valuable thing I have ever received.
For me, the Most Valuable Professional award stands as words of encouragement and a boost of confidence to continue on the road I have planned for myself."
Ionuț Grădinaru - Deputy of Java

ASSIST MVP Event

Being an ASSIST MVP, is it worth it?

Microsoft started using these awards and made the MVP title famous in the industry. We wanted to show the same appreciation to our colleagues. Naturally, ASSIST Software offers benefits to those who win, but what's even greater is that one specialist can be recognized and praised by his crew, the people he works with every day.

We do not impose a list of rewards; We allow our MVPs to choose, mix and match what they receive as a token of our appreciation. We will continue working to provide exciting rewards that will help with personal and professional development.

We thank all our team members at ASSIST Software for their participation in the MVP project. Together, we figured out who deserved to be the first recipient of this award for his certifications, work, and sense of responsibility and acting per his and ASSIST Software's values.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is ASSIST Software's development process?

The Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) we employ defines the following stages for a software project. Our SDLC phases include planning, requirement gathering, product design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

2. What software development methodology does ASSIST Software use?

ASSIST Software primarily leverages Agile principles for flexibility and adaptability. This means we break down projects into smaller, manageable sprints, allowing continuous feedback and iteration throughout the development cycle. We also incorporate elements from other methodologies to increase efficiency as needed. For example, we use Scrum for project roles and collaboration, and Kanban boards to see workflow and manage tasks. As per the Waterfall approach, we emphasize precise planning and documentation during the initial stages.

3. I'm considering a custom application. Should I focus on a desktop, mobile or web app?

We can offer software consultancy services to determine the type of software you need based on your specific requirements. Please explore what type of app development would suit your custom build product.

  • A web application runs on a web browser and is accessible from any device with an internet connection. (e.g., online store, social media platform)
  • Mobile app developers design applications mainly for smartphones and tablets, such as games and productivity tools. However, they can be extended to other devices, such as smartwatches.
  • Desktop applications are installed directly on a computer (e.g., photo editing software, word processors).
  • Enterprise software manages complex business functions within an organization (e.g., Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)).

4. My software product is complex. Are you familiar with the Scaled Agile methodology?

We have been in the software engineering industry for 30 years. During this time, we have worked on bespoke software that needed creative thinking, innovation, and customized solutions.

Scaled Agile refers to frameworks and practices that help large organizations adopt Agile methodologies. Traditional Agile is designed for small, self-organizing teams. Scaled Agile addresses the challenges of implementing Agile across multiple teams working on complex projects.

SAFe provides a structured approach for aligning teams, coordinating work, and delivering value at scale. It focuses on collaboration, communication, and continuous delivery for optimal custom software development services.

5. How do I choose the best collaboration model with ASSIST Software?

We offer flexible models. Think about your project and see which models would be right for you.

  • Dedicated Team: Ideal for complex, long-term projects requiring high continuity and collaboration.
  • Team Augmentation: Perfect for short-term projects or existing teams needing additional expertise.
  • Project-Based Model: Best for well-defined projects with clear deliverables and a fixed budget.

Contact us to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each model.
