How we helped 15 families have a better Christmas Day

As Christmas and traditions go hand in hand, at ASSIST Software we have developed our own way of celebrating the winter holidays. Just like in the past years, our attention focuses on those in need of a helping hand. 

Therefore, in December, we hold our biggest charity event of the year. 2021 was especially important for us since we launched the ASSIST Humanitarian Foundation. Constantly, we strive to help the community we are a part of. 

Community aid and team spirit are the foundations of our culture and the guidelines we live by, day by day. So, at the beginning of December, we set up a donation box and a bank account where each of our colleagues could donate for the cause. 

Together, we raised approximately 11,050 lei (over 2,000 euros) for 15 low-income families from the Suceava area that need support in these trying times.  

Our partners, the Saint Gheorghe Church from Burdujeni and the Archpriestship of Fălticeni, helped us contact the families and gift all the bags we had prepared for them.  

We donated an array of essential items, ranging from sanitary and hygiene products to blankets and pillows. We bought easy-to-store foods, meat, and canned goods, making sure not to forget Santa’s presents for the kids, which consisted of fruits, candy, and several types of chocolate.   

ASSIST Software also contributed to the gifts. The company added more funds to the donation so that the 15 families would also receive vitamin supplements, much needed in the cold season.   

Our takeaway was much more valuable than anything we could have offered. Talking to families, seeing their hardships, and how bleak they envision their future, we were utterly humbled and reminded of just how important helping each other is in obtaining a brighter tomorrow for the entire community.
