FP7 Project VINBOT - General Meeting in Lisbon, Portugal - ASSIST Software Romania

On 15-16 July 2015 was held the VINBOT Project General Meeting in Lisbon, Portugal, hosted by Instituto Superior de Agronomia (ISA). VINBOT project proposes to help wineries and winegrowers to be able to make accurate yield predictions, to organize the production and marketing their wines, coordinating the mixing of grapes of homogeneous quality to efficiently market a range of wines by quality and price.

VINBOT partners are collaborating in developing an all-terrain autonomous mobile robot capable of capturing and analyzing vineyard images and 3D data, by means of cloud computing applications, to determine the yield of vineyards and to share information with the winegrowers.

The first day of the meeting was dedicated to project partners, starting with a brief assessment of the project progress. The current status of works and the next steps regarding the VINBOT development were presented. On the second day of the meeting, a press conference was hosted at ISA, in which partners presented to the invited press the VINBOT project. At ISA nearby vineyard the VINBOT robot made a LIVE demo.

The VINBOT project is co-funded by the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme managed by REA-Research Executive Agency and submitted under FP7-SME - Specific Programme "Capacities": Research for the benefit of SMEs, on-topic SME-2013-2 - Research for SME Associations, with the project ID: 605630. In this program are involved 5 countries from Europe: Portugal, Hungary, Spain, Italy, and Romania represented by our company - ASSIST Software.
