Energy, laughter, determination, curiosity, and hope, these are the words that can better describe our Saturday at "Maratonul Cetăţii Suceava" event. 

 

We are proud to announce that ASSIST Software was one of the main sponsors for Suceava Marathon 2019. The event took place on the 21st of September and was organized by the International Non-governmental Organization, Save the Children Suceava.

 

This marathon was born from the necessity of bringing modern medical equipment to the Romanian maternity wards and also raising awareness.

 

The amazing atmosphere can’t be easily forgotten, due especially to the positive energy and all the determination of competitors and volunteers alike in making a positive change for prematurely born children.

 

Besides raising funds for the maternity wards in Romanian hospitals, the event came also as an invitation to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle that is so much needed nowadays.

 

We were glad to see that the number of competitors present at the Marathon increased compared to previous editions. This year, over 500 participants gathered at the starting line, among which were also the ASSIST Sports Club members who represented us successfully in three of the Marathon Routes: Semimarathon  – 21 km, the Cross – 11 km, the Popular route – 4 km.

 

When we thought we couldn’t be more proud of the ASSIST Sports Club, three members won valuable prizes at "Maratonul Cetăţii Suceava". We’re talking about Andrei Gafita, a 22-year-old Romanian race walking national champion, whom ASSIST Software proudly supports in all its competitions. He won 1st place in the 21 km long trail, the longest trail, in the 15 to 35 male category. 

 

 

Our colleague Cristian Spoiala’s performance also made us proud. He managed to get the third place in the 21 km trail, the 35+ male category.

 

 

We also had a winner in the 11 km long Cross route, 15 to 35 female category. This was our colleagues' wife, Crăciunescu Maria, who managed to win second place on the podium.

 

 

Besides ASSIST Sports Club support, our company prepared different activities at the ASSIST Software stand for all the participants. One of them was the mobile app ASSIST Sports Events, especially developed by our team to be of help to both runners and their supporters. It is a GPS Live Tracking App dedicated to competitors, spectators, and organizers.

 

Also, our colleagues from the Game Development Department prepared a VR roller-coaster and fascinating 3D games for all adrenaline lovers. The kids were surprised with the skills of a friendly clown and a lovely Minni Mouse and a lot of fun games.

 

Due to the initiative of the International Non-governmental Organization, Save the Children Suceava, and thanks to the support of all the sponsors and partners that joined forces, a maternity will be equipped with modern medical equipment, giving prematurely born children a fighting chance at life.
