The increasing complexity of regulations, the need for ethical considerations, and the environmental impact of data and AI operations create significant organizational challenges.
To address these challenges, DataPACT emerges as a pioneering Horizon Europe project. This initiative is dedicated to developing state-of-the-art tools and methodologies that embed compliance, ethics, and sustainability into the very fabric of data and AI pipelines. By doing so, DataPACT aims to revolutionize the way data and AI operations are designed, implemented, and managed, ensuring they meet the highest standards of compliance and ethical responsibility while minimizing environmental impact.
The effectiveness of DataPACT's core innovations is validated through seven complementary use cases provided by SMEs, large companies, and public sector organizations. These use cases span various sectors, including media and entertainment, healthcare, smart cities, law enforcement and security, customer relationship management, manufacturing, human resources, and public data. DataPACT supports these sectors in achieving straightforward and cost-effective compliance with existing and emerging regulations, reducing time-to-market for compliant data solutions, ensuring fair and unbiased data-driven systems, respecting privacy and fundamental rights, and minimizing and transparently managing the environmental impact of intensive data and AI operations.
DataPACT brings together a balanced consortium of 18 partners from 16 countries, including two large companies, two public sector organizations, four SMEs, two research centers, and seven universities. This consortium covers all relevant aspects of legal, ethical, social, environmental, and technical compliance in data and AI operations and pipelines, ensuring a holistic approach to innovation and implementation.
