BLADESAVE Horizon 2020 Kick-off Meeting in Cambridge
Mon, 19 Jun 2017
On the 13th of June 2017, the BladeSave consortium representatives came together in Cambridge, for the official kick-off meeting of the project. The consortium is made up of three British partners - RENEWABLE ADVICE LTD (coordinator), SMART FIBRES LTD and TWI International Network, one Romanian partner - ASSIST Software and one Dutch partner - EMERGYA WIND TECHNOLOGIES BV
The main objective of this project is to develop a comprehensive solution for structural health and condition monitoring systems designed for wind turbines. The BladeSave system is a fusion between a Fibre Optic Structural Health Monitoring System (Smartscan) providing multi-sensing capability (strains, vibrations, and acoustic emission), and blade management software (WindManager) that links inspection and maintenance data to SHM data, thereby offering a comprehensive solution for wind turbine blade monitoring, repair, and management.
The meeting agenda consisted of establishing the project’s management committee and presenting the BladeSave implementation plan. The partners went on to thoroughly analyze the first stage of the project, which involved discussing its implementation plan, work packages, deliverables, and dissemination strategy.
The meeting was wrapped up with talks concerning project management, which included establishing communication channels and the monitoring and tracking of tasks packages.
The BladeSave Project is co-funded by the Horizon 2020 program of the European Union and submitted under H2020-FTIPilot-2016 call Innovation Action, on-topic FTIPilot-01-2016 with the project ID 760353.
