Once again it was proven that common hobbies bring people together.
Last weekend we participated in the Rarau Radical Race MTB marathon in the beautiful city of Campulung Moldovenesc. Out of the total of 150 participants, 16 proudly represented ASSIST by finishing the race in the first 50 competitors.
Rarau Radical Race aims to support, encourage and develop sports activities in Romania, human relations based on fair play and mutual respect, and promote the most picturesque locations in the heart of Bucovina and the Rarău massif.
Rarau Radical Race Performance
Our brave colleagues who established a successful personal performance are:
As the main sponsor, ASSIST Software was involved in the organization of the event from start to end and is grateful to have had the chance to support the competitive scene as well as to encourage and promote a healthy lifestyle.
The bikers rode a breathtaking trail alongside a wonderful landscape of weirdly shaped rock formations and panoramic views - one of the best-known images of Bucovina.
MTB trails
-
The short route was 28 kilometers long with 910 meters elevation gain. Although the distance may not seem as much, the 28 kilometers were truly challenging mostly because of the rough terrain, steep climbs and dangerous valleys.
-
Even so, compared to the short route, the long tour was downright exhausting. 63 kilometers with 2440 meters elevation gain represents a challenge for any cyclist. The long tour included 5 climbs, two more ascents than the short route (one of 14km and one of 8 km).
Finally, all competitors arrived safely but covered in mud from head to toe, tired and hungry. There was also a competition organized for children under 14. They competed on a short route through the city and had a chance to show their enthusiasm and get a taste of a real competition. As they passionately pedaled through the crowd, everyone cheered for them.
After the race everyone got a delicious serving of beans with pickled cucumbers boiler. During the prize awarding we were all present and cheered for our friends. We had a lot of fun and we are looking forward to the next challenges.
