WE ARE SOCIAL 1000+ ASSIST Software Romania

Small steps that add up to big value

"Social media has been broadly defined to refer to 'the many relatively inexpensive and widely accessible electronic tools that enable anyone to publish and access information, collaborate on a common effort, or build relationships".  Murthy, Dhiraj (2013). Twitter: Social Communication in the Twitter Age. Cambridge: Polity. pp. 7–8.

Nowadays, computers and technology touch nearly every aspect of modern life. ASSIST Software has been delivering innovative solutions and adding value through technology implementation at a professional level since its very beginnings. Our 1000+ well deserved facebook page likes are just a small part of the community of partners and teammates we`ve gathered along time. And guess what?! We won`t stop here. ASSIST Software already has important partnerships all over the seas, meeting new interesting people every day and starting longterm friendships with each and every client/partner. The one thing we all have in common is the passion and love for technology and how it surrounds and includes us.

A little tale of us

ASSIST Software specializes in outsourcing software development projects. Based in Eastern Europe, ASSIST is operating in a challenging economy that creates a fertile environment for Information Technology and business outsourcing. Our team continuously fulfills our partners’ demands by constantly updating our knowledge, conquering new areas of expertise, increasing the quality of our consultancy and support services.

Our Microsoft Certified Partner status is recognition for our performances and competences. These competencies are greatly supported by the software development team. The partnership with HP, Intel, Fujitsu, Amazon, Openstack, and Drupal are a testament to our ability to design and deliver quality hardware and software solutions optimized for any platform.

IT, the it word

"Technology is stitching together all the minds of the living, wrapping the planet in a vibrating cloak of electronic nerves, How can this not stir that organ in us that is sensitive to something larger than ourselves?" - Kevin Kelly.

Futurist Jason Silva, in his Shots of Awe video – ”Technium” discusses about the growth of technology in a wonderful manner so that every single human being could open his eyes and see, really see what is all around and how the ”simple” objects we`re so used up with are in fact a large step towards the future.

”We live in a world of wonders, high-tech gizmos that boggle the imagination. Devices that have more complexity and more technology condensed into them than $60 million supercomputers had 40 years ago are something we get to enjoy every day. The supercomputers of yesterday are in everybody`s hands. A young person with a cell phone in Africa has better communications technology that the US president had 25 years ago. So there`s no doubt that these are magnificent machines that we use to extend the boundaries of our thinking and of our reach. Nonetheless, people have this problem with technology because they think it`s somehow unnatural. Enter Kevin Kelly. Kevin Kelly`s book ”What Technology wants” introduces the concept of the ”technium”. He calls the technium the aggregate of all of our technology. He calls it actually the seventh kingdom of life. He says that technium is self-organizing, and has wants and needs, and is subject to evolutionary forces. He literally says that evolution is playing out through the evolution of technology. Technology is birthed out of the human mind. If you were able to time-lapse reality, you would see out thoughts spill over into the world in the form of technology. Today we have a device made of plastic and metal that sends our thoughts traveling at light speed across oceans of the sky. The fact that I can talk on the phone with somebody and have what Amber Case refers to as ”technologically mediated telepathy”, mind-to-mind communication, is not just astonishing, but also according to Kevin Kelly`s idea, proof of the flowering of new possibilities. Proof that technology is a part of us. It`s made of atoms. It`s natural. It sits on a continuum between the born and the made. Buckminster Fuller said to start with the universe, the Earth, one single system, an integrated system. We are of nature. Anything that is birthed out of us is birthed out of nature.”

In her study, ”Careers in the growing field of information technology services,” Beyond the  Numbers: Employment & Unemployment, vol. 2, no.9 (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics), Laurn Csorny talks about how ”Information technology can help with such diverse tasks as driving motor vehicles and diagnosing diseases. IT enables seamless integration and communication between businesses anywhere in the world. To keep IT systems running, a large workforce is needed to maintain networks, create new software, and ensure information security. In addition, the proliferation of smartphones has given rise to a new “app economy,” in which new employment opportunities are available for workers who create the programs that run on mobile devices. Unlike many other sectors of the economy, employment in the computer systems design and related services industry (commonly known as IT services) was not significantly affected by the recession of 2007–2009. The industry lost about 1 percent of its employment in 2009 but regained momentum in 2010 when it surpassed the employment numbers from 2008. The high demand for the services provided by this industry has created a large number of fast-growing and high-paying IT jobs.”

Among Lauren Csorny, Jay M. Berman from the Bureau of Labor Statistics tells us that ”the computer systems design and related services industry is among the economy's largest and fastest sources of employment growth. Employment increased by 616,000 over the 1994-2004 period, posting a staggering 8.0-percent annual growth rate. The projected 2004-2014 employment increase of 453,000 translates into 1.6 million jobs and represents a relatively slower annual growth rate of 3.4 percent as productivity increases and offshore outsourcing take their toll. (Industry output and employment projections to 2014)

These people remind us what a wonder we are and how we should “wake up”.  Open your eyes to see what`s out there inside OF us and outside FOR us by exploring creativity, innovation, the co-evolution of human and technology, metaphysics, existentialism, and the human condition.

You are human. You are technology. You are the life IN not BEHIND information technology. It`s part of you and you`re part of IT, whether you see it or not. Act like it! Care and share! Be social! We are!
