Kick-off Meeting of the DATAPACT Project in Oslo
Advancing Data & AI Compliance and Sustainability
The beginning of 2025 marks a significant milestone for ASSIST Software with the launch of several groundbreaking research and innovation projects, including DATAPACT - an ambitious initiative aimed at transforming the landscape of data and Artificial Intelligence operations by embedding compliance, privacy, and environmental sustainability into its core design. The project seeks to deliver "compliance by design" for AI and data pipelines through the development of cutting-edge technical tools and methodologies.
Reaching across different sectors
The project aims to engage various target groups, including data/AI industries, data/AI scientists, business experts, MLOps and DataOps professionals, policymakers, entrepreneurs, society at large, and law practitioners. The involvement of these groups is crucial for the successful implementation and widespread adoption of DataPACT’s innovations.
Building a collaborative foundation
DATAPACT was officially launched at the kick-off meeting held from January 16-18 at the Oslo Science Park in Norway. The event was hosted by SINTEF, the project’s coordinator, and it brought together representatives from DATAPACT’s 18 partners across 16 countries.
The meeting represented an excellent opportunity for partners to become acquainted and gain a comprehensive understanding of their roles within the broader context of the project. It provided a platform for detailed discussions about the project's objectives, methodologies, work packages and the seven use cases that will validate its core innovations. These use cases span various sectors, including media and entertainment, healthcare, smart cities, law enforcement and security, customer relationship management, manufacturing, human resources, and public data. By exploring these diverse applications, partners were able to appreciate the project's potential impact and the practical challenges it aims to address.
Outlining the path forward
The consortium outlined the next steps and key milestones for the project. This includes the development of initial prototypes, pilot testing in real-world scenarios, and continuous collaboration among partners to ensure the project stays on track and meets its objectives. The successful kick-off meeting in Oslo has set a strong foundation for the DataPACT project, paving the way for groundbreaking advancements in the field of data and AI.
