Due to popular demand, ASSIST Software’s Game Development department will open its doors and welcome three university students to one of the most sought-after internships in the city. As such, all University of Suceava students that are interested in game development should consider registering for the formal selection process that could grant them access to the perfect environment for learning crafted at ASSIST Software.

We are looking for those with a true passion for development

Loving games and loving to develop games are two vastly different things and when a company is searching for quality over quantity, the availability of positions becomes limited. ONLY three interns will be accepted for a full month educational program where they will be able to spend time with our devs and learn through mentoring and hands-on training.

Registration will be possible starting on the 7th and will close on the 13th of March.

Be sure to claim your spot as soon as possible!

You’ll undergo a fair selection process

In order to best establish who will be most suitable for the internship, all students will be required to prove their interest by developing an app. Between the 14th and 20th of March, candidates will try using the Unity 3D engine on their project and implement the theme. Feature requirements will be announced on the 14th of March and, for a better understanding of Unity, students will have access to the ASSIST Software online learning resources, which can be found here: https://assist-software.net/learning-resources

The deadline will be the 20th of March, at 23:59 and projects must be sent via email to hello@assist.ro  After our team receives the materials, they will evaluate the work between the 21st and 23rd of March and decide on the most promising submissions.

The winners will be announced on the 24th of March, and then they can get ready for the internship. The students will be expected to join us at the ASSIST Software headquarters in Suceava for a full month of intensive Unity training.

Why Unity and how will you be able to grow?

61% of gaming developers surveyed in 2020 said Unity remains their engine of choice, but Unity is not only limited to game development. As a trainee, you will be able to expand your knowledge base with regard to other applications of the engine. This will be valuable since every month, there are 5B downloads of apps built in Unity from online stores.

Our team's vast expertise in using Unity is only partially shown through the free mobile game Elly and the Ruby Atlas, which has recently surpassed the 100,000 downloads threshold. Those that participate in the internship will be able to learn how the game was created and what the biggest challenges were.

The one-on-one Unity lessons will be invaluable for all those who have a desire to build a career in the ever-expanding gaming industry. But also, you will be able to familiarize yourself with the Agile work methodology, which is used by most software developing companies.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is ASSIST Software's development process?

The Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) we employ defines the following stages for a software project. Our SDLC phases include planning, requirement gathering, product design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

2. What software development methodology does ASSIST Software use?

ASSIST Software primarily leverages Agile principles for flexibility and adaptability. This means we break down projects into smaller, manageable sprints, allowing continuous feedback and iteration throughout the development cycle. We also incorporate elements from other methodologies to increase efficiency as needed. For example, we use Scrum for project roles and collaboration, and Kanban boards to see workflow and manage tasks. As per the Waterfall approach, we emphasize precise planning and documentation during the initial stages.

3. I'm considering a custom application. Should I focus on a desktop, mobile or web app?

We can offer software consultancy services to determine the type of software you need based on your specific requirements. Please explore what type of app development would suit your custom build product.

  • A web application runs on a web browser and is accessible from any device with an internet connection. (e.g., online store, social media platform)
  • Mobile app developers design applications mainly for smartphones and tablets, such as games and productivity tools. However, they can be extended to other devices, such as smartwatches.
  • Desktop applications are installed directly on a computer (e.g., photo editing software, word processors).
  • Enterprise software manages complex business functions within an organization (e.g., Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)).

4. My software product is complex. Are you familiar with the Scaled Agile methodology?

We have been in the software engineering industry for 30 years. During this time, we have worked on bespoke software that needed creative thinking, innovation, and customized solutions.

Scaled Agile refers to frameworks and practices that help large organizations adopt Agile methodologies. Traditional Agile is designed for small, self-organizing teams. Scaled Agile addresses the challenges of implementing Agile across multiple teams working on complex projects.

SAFe provides a structured approach for aligning teams, coordinating work, and delivering value at scale. It focuses on collaboration, communication, and continuous delivery for optimal custom software development services.

5. How do I choose the best collaboration model with ASSIST Software?

We offer flexible models. Think about your project and see which models would be right for you.

  • Dedicated Team: Ideal for complex, long-term projects requiring high continuity and collaboration.
  • Team Augmentation: Perfect for short-term projects or existing teams needing additional expertise.
  • Project-Based Model: Best for well-defined projects with clear deliverables and a fixed budget.

Contact us to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each model.
