VINBOT

The FP7 VINBOT project represents a powerful precision viticulture tool, which does not exist today: the cloud-computing agricultural robot.

By means of a novel, all-terrain, autonomous robot, VINBOT project automates the traditional visual yield estimation process throughout the entire vineyard, estimating the number of leaves and grapes on the vine via computer vision and other sensors. Data-intensive computer vision algorithms are offloaded to external internet servers (the cloud).

The VINBOT extends visual leaf and fruit estimation throughout the entire vineyard and centralizes yield management in the SME-AGs by providing them with online yield maps of their members' vineyards.

The VINBOT project is co-funded by the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme managed by REA-Research Executive Agency and submitted under FP7-SME - Specific Programme "Capacities": Research for the benefit of SMEs, on-topic SME-2013-2 - Research for SME Associations, with the project ID: 605630.

In this program are involved 5 countries from Europe: Portugal represented by Cooperativa Agricola de Granja, Agriciencia, Instituto Superior de Agronomia, and Cooperativa Agrícola de Granja, Hungary represented by Orgoványi Gazdaszövetkezet, Spain represented by Robotnik and Ateknea Solutions, Italy represented by D'ALFONSO DEL SORDO and Grupo Faustino, and Romania represented by our company - ASSIST Software.
