In case you missed the compelling webinar held by BladeSave H2020 project partners on the 27th of August 2020, you can revisit the webinar on the project website and also explore speaker slides, for a better understanding of the challenges in the wind energy sector.
BladeSave H2020 is a fusion between a Fibre Optic Structural Health Monitoring System, with multi-sensing capabilities (strains, vibrations, and acoustic emission), and blade management software (WindManager). This fusion is designed to link data from inspection and maintenance to structural health monitoring data, to provide a comprehensive solution for wind turbine blade monitoring, repair and management. ASSIST Software was responsible for the development of the communication system and the pre-processing of data to perform the system’s trials, as well as software fine-tuning.
Experts from TWI Ltd (Graham Edwards, Linghao Zhou, and Ryan Marks), Renewable Advice Ltd - Benn Faulkner, and Optics11 (Mario Sorgente) have provided an interesting presentation of the BladeSave H2020 innovative condition monitoring system for wind turbine blades. The webinar addressed specific issues related to the wind energy industry, focusing on a demonstration of the BladeSave system and graphically illustrating the testing stages and the achieved results.
The BladeSave Project is co-funded by the Horizon 2020 program of the European Union and submitted under the H2020-FTIPilot-2016 Innovation Action call, with project ID 760353.
