VALUMICS H2020 Project Kick-off Meeting in Denmark
Wed, 30 Aug 2017
From the 27th to the 29th of June 2017, the VALUMICS consortium came together in Denmark, for the official kick-off meeting of the project. The partners gained valuable insights from the European Commission officers that participated in the project launch meeting.
VALUMICS is a new Horizon 2020 research project, with the descriptive title: Understanding Food Value Chains and Network Dynamics. It aims to address the specific challenges the food system and food value chains in Europe are currently facing and it is designed to enhance understanding about food system network dynamics. The consortium will work towards these goals by exploring causal relationships in the selected supply chains, value chains, and decision chains, which influence core issues like sustainability, integrity, and resilience of food systems.
The first items on the agenda were introducing the members of the consortium and their roles in the implementation of the project, as well as establishing the project’s General Assembly and Executive Board.
The meeting continued with an analysis of the project’s implementation plan, work packages, deliverables, and dissemination strategy. In line with the design of a kick-off meeting, the participants devoted a considerable amount of time to project management and coordination.
By the end of the meeting, the consortium reached a consensus on the most important aspects of project implementation and established the tasks to be completed in accordance with the proposed project activities plan.
The Valumics project is co-funded by the Horizon 2020 program of the European Union and submitted under the H2020-SFS-2016-2017 Innovation Action call, under topic SFS-33-2016 with project ID 727243-2.
