ASSIST Software Romania was founded in September 1992 by two friends and University classmates Daniel TANASE and Gheorghe DAVID, both highly passionate about computing technologies, with a special focus on software development. ASSIST Software headquarters are in Suceava, a picturesque city in NE of Romania, the former capital of the historical region of Bukowina.Â
ASSIST Software started by developing highly customized business applications for small and medium companies. The company has done pioneering work by offering professional advice, training, and support to local companies in their painful transition to the new digital era.Â
The main objective was to assume the role of a leading provider of high-quality products and services, to redefine the experience of using computing technologies, adapted software applications, and the internet in boosting its clients' business.Â
Due to the novelty of the field of activity and to the fact that the IT&C market experienced a steady upward trend, ASSIST Software has continuously grown: starting in 1992 with a staff of only two persons, the company soon became an important regional leader in the field, covering the north-east part of Romania.Â
In 1999, when ASSIST Software already had over 40 employees, it became an Internet service provider, creating thus new business opportunities for its customers. Moreover, the acquisition of high-performance equipment helped design new highly competitive products. Â
In 2000 ASSIST Software inaugurates the first major national project www.e-suceava.com. ASSIST Software launched the "Virtual Suceava" portal, the first virtual city in Romania. The event was covered by national media and TV channels: Pro TV, Antena 1, and TVR. Then, the ASSIST Web Design Studio was established, as a distinct department focused on web-based software applications.Â
Starting with 2001, ASSIST’s main interest was directed toward educational resources and the company prepared web design courses. ASSIST Software entered a partnership with the Stefan cel Mare University of Suceava, in the CNAP training program (Cisco Network Academy Project). In January 2004, the company became an ECDL Authorised Testing Center, a partner of the ATIC (Association for Information Technology and Communications). ECDL (European Computer Driving License) is the most common certification program level training on computer use, internationally recognized in 166 countries.Â
The company currently has over 350Â employees. ASSIST Software is specialized in outsourcing software development projects and delivers consistent results in emerging fields such as mobile and web-based custom business applications, e-commerce, e-payment, e-security, e-health and enterprise & resource planning, entertainment, and gaming industry.Â
