This dedication to shifting digital boundaries was once again on display at the 18th International Conference on Development and Application Systems (DAS 2026), where ASSIST proudly stood an active scientific contributor.

Representing our leadership and technical vision, Irina Petrariu, VP of Research at ASSIST Software, took the main stage to present our latest collaborative breakthrough: "A Comparative Study of Regression Techniques for Touch-based Input and Adaptive User Interfaces." Written in collaboration with Stefan cel Mare University, our partners in the A(I)BILITIES project consortium, the paper addresses a critical challenge in modern software engineering: utilizing machine learning and predictive regression models to create efficient algorithms for analyzing touch input data. This lays the foundation for interfaces that automatically adapt to a user's unique physical capabilities.

The presentation drew the attention of prominent international figures in attendance, including Professor Jean Vanderdonckt, a world-renowned expert in Human-Computer Interaction and adaptive user interface engineering. Engaging in high-level technical discussions with global authorities like Professor Vanderdonckt reinforces ASSIST's position at the cutting edge of software evolution.

This academic milestone marks the next natural step in our ongoing dissemination strategy for the project. Following our successful showcase in April, where ASSIST promoted A(I)BILITIES within the global industrial environment at Hannover Messe, this presentation at DAS 2026 allowed us to engage deeply with the academic community, reinforcing our commitment to bridging industry-ready applications with rigorous scientific research.

By maintaining this strong presence across both commercial events and scientific conferences, ASSIST Software continues to prove that our R&D initiatives create meaningful, socially responsible technology.
