A Digital Career Hub for the Maritime Industry

Own Product
Seaplify is an ASSIST Software product, co-funded through a grant from The HBAR Foundation alongside the company’s own investment, and developed by a dedicated internal team. It's an all-in-one platform where maritime professionals grow their careers, a place to connect with a global community, keep learning through a rich library of resources and evaluation tests, and use practical tools built for life at sea. Seaplify supports seafarers throughout their journey and bridges the long-standing communication gap between onshore staff and crews.

A community-driven industry
without a home of its own
The maritime industry has always been community-driven. Professionals share advice, swap experience and find opportunities through word of mouth and trusted channels like WhatsApp groups. What has been missing is a dedicated home, one place to keep learning, stay connected and grow a career, at sea or ashore. General platforms like LinkedIn or Indeed were never built for maritime realities, and continuous learning is hard to sustain onboard. Seaplify was created to fill that gap.
Seaplify at its heart is a knowledge-sharing community and a growing library of learning resources, evaluation tests and career tools that help seafarers keep growing throughout their journey, including a rewards system that recognizes participation. Companies can tap into this environment too, with job postings and AI-assisted recruitment. Designed around seafarers first, Seaplify works alongside the informal networks the industry already relies on.

A comprehensive maritime career development partner
Since 2023, ASSIST Software has designed and built Seaplify end to end as a cross-platform product spanning native mobile apps and a web application. Seaplify simplifies career development for seafarers with digital tools that help them navigate the maritime industry and find advancement opportunities. Seaplify combines proven platform capabilities with modern technologies such as blockchain, generative AI and machine learning to deliver a responsive, scalable experience.
Mixing core functionality with emerging tech
Seaplify provides users with exclusive resources, a supportive international community, and access to the most demanded maritime careers.

Functionalities:
Everything a maritime professional needs, in one place
Seaplify brings everything a maritime professional needs into one place: community, learning, career growth and recognition, with tools built for real life at sea, plus modern hiring tools for the companies that want to reach them.

What we worked on:
A global network and Stack Overflow-style knowledge hub. Digital library of technical manuals, e-books and professional resources.
Technical manuals and evaluation tests (COLREG, CES, maritime terms and more) to keep skills sharp and prep for the next rank.
Seafinance (financial tools & guidance), the Crew Packing Checklist (voyage prep) and the SIRE 2.0 Inspection Readiness Assistant.
Securely share professional information and monetize skills through a visible DLT profile powered by Hedera Hashgraph.
Maritime-specific search with auto-apply and talent discovery with detailed professional profiles.
Two products, one maritime ecosystem
Seaplify is built mobile-first, supporting seaferers across their whole journey, onboard and ashore. At the centre is the seafarer app: community, learning and quizzes, rewards, a maritime dictionary, the SIRE 2.0 companion and jobs. Around it sits a growing set of online tools for seafarers such as Seafinance, the Crew Packing Checklist, the Able Seaman Guide, a Maritime Law Firms hub and a Cruise Career guide.

Novel concepts:
'Earn per View' rewards system which lets seafarers securely share their professional information and monetize their expertise through a tamper-evident profile built on Hedera Hashgraph's distributed ledger, without exposing users to blockchain complexity.
Seaplify uses generative AI (OpenAI) to auto-generate job descriptions and power résumé scanning and job–candidate matching, adapted to maritime roles, ranks and terminology, while machine-learning models drive recommendations and hiring analytics.
A purpose-built domain model captures ranks, vessel types, DP licenses, contract types and certifications, so search, advanced filters and hiring analytics all run on structured maritime data; the kind of filtering general platforms like LinkedIn or Indeed simply can't offer.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Can you integrate AI into an existing software product?
Absolutely. Our team can assess your current system and recommend how artificial intelligence features, such as automation, recommendation engines, or predictive analytics, can be integrated effectively. Whether it's enhancing user experience or streamlining operations, we ensure AI is added where it delivers real value without disrupting your core functionality.
2. What types of AI projects has ASSIST Software delivered?
We’ve developed AI solutions across industries, from natural language processing in customer support platforms to computer vision in manufacturing and agriculture. Our expertise spans recommendation systems, intelligent automation, predictive analytics, and custom machine learning models tailored to specific business needs.
3. What is ASSIST Software's development process?
The Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) we employ defines the stages for a software project. Our SDLC phases include planning, requirement gathering, product design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
4. What software development methodology does ASSIST Software use?
ASSIST Software primarily leverages Agile principles for flexibility and adaptability. This means we break down projects into smaller, manageable sprints, allowing continuous feedback and iteration throughout the development cycle. We also incorporate elements from other methodologies to increase efficiency as needed. For example, we use Scrum for project roles and collaboration, and Kanban boards to see workflow and manage tasks. As per the Waterfall approach, we emphasize precise planning and documentation during the initial stages.
5. I'm considering a custom application. Should I focus on a desktop, mobile or web app?
We can offer software consultancy services to determine the type of software you need based on your specific requirements. Please explore what type of app development would suit your custom build product.
- A web application runs on a web browser and is accessible from any device with an internet connection. (e.g., online store, social media platform)
- Mobile app developers design applications mainly for smartphones and tablets, such as games and productivity tools. However, they can be extended to other devices, such as smartwatches.
- Desktop applications are installed directly on a computer (e.g., photo editing software, word processors).
- Enterprise software manages complex business functions within an organization (e.g., Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)).
6. My software product is complex. Are you familiar with the Scaled Agile methodology?
We have been in the software engineering industry for 30 years. During this time, we have worked on bespoke software that needed creative thinking, innovation, and customized solutions.
Scaled Agile refers to frameworks and practices that help large organizations adopt Agile methodologies. Traditional Agile is designed for small, self-organizing teams. Scaled Agile addresses the challenges of implementing Agile across multiple teams working on complex projects.
SAFe provides a structured approach for aligning teams, coordinating work, and delivering value at scale. It focuses on collaboration, communication, and continuous delivery for optimal custom software development services.
7. How do I choose the best collaboration model with ASSIST Software?
We offer flexible models. Think about your project and see which model would be right for you.
- Dedicated Team: Ideal for complex, long-term projects requiring high continuity and collaboration.
- Team Augmentation: Perfect for short-term projects or existing teams needing additional expertise.
- Project-Based Model: Best for well-defined projects with clear deliverables and a fixed budget.
