ASSIST Software's greening activity on Via Transilvanica
Thu, 06 Jun 2024
Environmental care has always been a defining characteristic of ASSIST Software. Through regular ecological cleanup activities and sustainability measures, we aspire to the title of an eco-friendly company. Our environmental cleanup initiatives began many years ago, but as our team has grown, we have engaged in larger, more impactful projects for the community and the surroundings.
In 2021, we became "foster parents" of a segment of the Via Transilvanica trail. Through this commitment, we promised to keep the trail clean and accessible for tourists. Every year, a team of volunteers from ASSIST Software walks every kilometer of this segment to ensure the path is practicable and in good condition.
Via Transilvanica - "The Road that Unites"
Via Transilvanica is Romania's longest endurance hiking trail, lengthening 1420 kilometers from Putna Monastery to Turnu Severin. This trail crosses ten counties and over 400 communities, capturing Romania's cultural diversity and authenticity.
Out of this total, we adopted a 16-kilometer section of Via Transilvanica between Vatra Moldoviței and Lake Iezer in Sadova, in the Bukovina region. Since then, we have ensured the trail remains clean and accessible for tourists through annual cleanup actions. Our latest effort occurred on May 19th, when a dedicated team of twenty ASSIST Software volunteers participated in the "Good Day" greening campaign on Via Transilvanica. They successfully cleansed sixteen posts and collected approximately 1000 L of waste, affirming our ongoing responsibility to maintain this beautiful hiking trail.
A better place for all of us
ASSIST Software is a company dedicated to caring for the environment and promoting sustainability. Keeping our environment healthy and clean is essential for our community’s well-being, tourist attractions, and wildlife protection. Trails like Via Transilvanica provide enjoyable outdoor experiences, encouraging people to stay active and connect with nature. By looking after these natural areas, we help reduce pollution and keep our landscapes beautiful for future generations. Our ongoing efforts show how important it is for everyone to work together to protect our environment and improve the quality of life.
