A High-Ranking IT Competition in Suceava? USV students recommend ASSIST Tech Challenge
For the second year in a row, ASSIST Software organized the ASSIST Tech Challenge IT competition for students in Suceava. After three weeks of hard work, students received a feedback form to rate their overall experience with the competition.
The replies ranked the event as one of the best company-organized IT contests for students.
How does the most demanding software development contest in Suceava rank?
Although ASSIST Tech Challenge is considered a demanding IT competition that pushes students out of their comfort zones, the results of our inquiry were remarkable. More than half of the participants rated the event with top grades. A staggering 100% of responders said that the software development competition from Suceava deserves a five out of five, continuing to praise the contest's format, mentors, and documentation.
In the anonymous survey, students confessed that ASSIST Tech Challenge changed their perception of how a software engineering company works.
What were the contest's requirements?
To participate, the USV students were required to have at least basic software development skills. Determination, passion, and accountability were also essential in handling the pressure of building a full-stack app in just three weeks and the prizes were worth the hassle.
The total value of the prizes for ASSIST Tech Challenge 2022 was 10,500 lei, split between the 4 winning teams and the 4 individual ”Hero” awards for those students who managed to impress the judges with their individual skills and problem-solving abilities.
How many students signed up?
Remarkably, teams started registering on the ASSIST Tech Challenge software competition landing page as soon as sign-ups became possible.
Students could enter as teams of three to five people or register alone. ASSIST Software took it upon itself to mix, match, and pair those who couldn't find a team into groups. All teams had to abide by the roles in a software engineering company and designate a backend developer, a frontend developer, a QA engineer, and, if available, a UX designer.
By the end of the registration period, 15 teams were already ready to find out this year's theme and task and begin working on their apps under the supervision of their mentors.

The ASSIST employees that volunteered as mentors did not aid the contestants in making critical choices regarding their project but tried helping whenever the team faced a blockage.
Collaboration with the mentors was another part of the ASSIST Tech Challenge that students loved, judging by the feedback. More than half of the contestants ranked the mentor-student collaboration as above average and exceptional.
