The CounteR project, launched in May 2021, is beginning to take shape!
Explore our first newsletter, where we briefly present the general objectives of this H2020 project, which aims to develop an integrated situational awareness system capable of identifying radical content online. This system seeks to foster information-sharing and collaboration among various European agencies dedicated to countering radical propaganda, and the fundraising, recruitment and planning of terrorist attacks.
Learn about the CounteR Project Cluster on LinkedIn, designed to facilitate interaction with similar, interrelated and complementary businesses in the field of combatting radicalization such as industry and commercial actors, end-users, suppliers, service-providers, CSOs, similar projects, academia, and institutions.
The newsletter also covers a fascinating interview with one of the academia representatives of the CounteR consortium: Professor Marco Lombardi, Director of the ITSTIME Research Center at the Department of Sociology of the Catholic University of Sacred Heart (UCSC) in Milan, Italy. Professor Lombardi provides insightful details concerning the social and psychological factors involved in the radicalization process.
Dr. Holger Nitsch, representative of the University of the Bavarian Police and its research institute CEPOLIS, participating in the project as an end-user, explains how the CounteR platform will contribute to creating a safer Europe.
